1. Confidence in yourself that you can fix the phone.
2. USB data cable to connect the phone to a PC.
3. About 5-10GB free space in the PC installation drive.
4. Make sure the phone is fully charged with good battery life.
5. Good internet access.
Then follow these steps;
-download and install Lumia Software Recovery Tool or Windows Device Recovery Tool (LSRT/WDRT). WDRT is for latter versions of windows.
- launch the software, you need to be online to do it.
- if its a working phone, select connection type as "Nokia Suite/ PC suite" in phone and wait a while. Do not click "My Phone does not start up or respond". Once it shows your phone details,
- click "Install"
- check "I understand and want to continue"
- click "continue"
- if phone is a dead phone, phone should be in switch off mode, then press and hold volume down and power button simultaneously for a few secs. Phone will vibrate and LSRT will detect it. LSRT will then check and download the latest software available for your phone. It will also notify you once the process completes, and your phone will be back again!
